Am sure we all have heard of Global Warming, sometime, somewhere, but, most of us, would have left it at that (including me, till a couple of days back).
I wonder why ???
Are we so busy that we do not have time to "pause" and "ponder" in life ?
Are we so caught up in the everyday aspects of life, that we fail to see it beyond the immediate?
Or is it that we think, we have enough problems of our own, that where can we go ahead and solve other's problem, or problems created by others?
Well, after watching "An Inconvenient Truth" - a documentary by Al Gore
(the erstwhile 'next President' of US - so referred, as he was slated, to be the President after Clinton, but lost out on Florida's voting, and then entered Bush!), who recently won the Nobel Peace Prize (along with our very own Pachauri).

His acceptance speech makes for some very interesting reading
- it brings fore, a very topical and important area of consideration for EVERY HUMAN BEING living on this planet Earth - that its time to DO SOMETHING about it, and the time is NOW!
I was so moved by the earnestness, the urgency and the facts of the case, that it should be obvious for any lay man that its a matter of prime importance and still for the want of Political Will, (which as Al Gore says - is a renewable resource in the US - meaning elections are round the corner), is languishing on the back burner of many.
Earlier when he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in Bali Al Gore told an audience at the United Nations Climate Change Conference that the United States is the chief obstacle to advancement on the issue of climate change. “My own country, the United States, is principally responsible for obstructing progress here in Bali,” Gore said.
I urge every body to see this fantastic DVD Documentary (trailers availble on Google Video) along with a very good interview of Al Gore where he talks of the Climate Crisis.
I intend to compile some relevent information and update on this very important topic soon in my coming posts.
I am sure, once we see and hear what he has to say, we are going to end up becoming if not a believer, atleast a seeker for the validity of his prognosis!
Personally speaking, I am convinced, with what i saw and heard, and to quote again from this "GLOBAL WARNING" DVD (quoting Churchill) -
"The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to a close. In its place, we are entering a period of consequences.”
Save the planet - this is the only one we have for a Home!
